Freud Museum London – final home of Sigmund Freud – and Camden Arts Centre

The Freud Museum London was the final home of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, who came to live in London with his family in 1938, afterfleeing Nazi-occupied Vienna.

Join us for a curator-led tour of the house followed by a visit of the Camden Arts Centre by curator Gina Buenfeld. We will discover « The Island » exhibition by the artist Christodoulus Panayiotou.

TUTANKHAMUN & KATE DAUDY AT THE SAATCHI GALLERY

TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh. The exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, and is the final chance to see these glittering world heritage artefacts before they return to Egypt forever.

As part of its Artist-In-Residence programme, Saatchi Gallery is delighted to present Kate Daudy, who has been invited to respond to the Tutankhamun exhibition. Daudy’s installation « It wasn’t that at all », explores death, life and the afterlife through a contemporary vision.

TURNER PRIZE & ANTONY GORMLEY: ANOTHER TIME

One of the best known prizes for visual arts in the world, Turner Prize is coming to Turner Contemporary in Margate. This years’ finalists are Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Helen Cammock, Oscar Murillo and Tai Shani.

‘Another Time’ is one of Antony Gormley‘s series of one hundred sculptures installed all over the world. Located on the beach in Margate, this sculpture is visible only for three hours during low tide.

Bells and Spells follows Aurelia Thierree‘s peculiar journey into an incurable kleptomaniac who is at the mercy of the objects that she steals. A coat hanger starts to walk, chairs and tablesslide and a dress suddenly takes on a life of its own. Using ethereal imagery and unpredictable props, this enchanting piece of physical theatre blends the wonderful with the strange.
