Karen Levy has previously worked at Sotheby’s London Private Client Group where she was responsible for the European and Asian sectors. Prior to this, she worked at a number of other leading art institutions and auction houses and coordinated the successful “Art of the World” project at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. She now runs Art of this Century, providing bespoke experiences and special encounters in the art world. From its beginning, Karen has also actively participated in the building of her family’s private collection, DSL, which is focused on contemporary Chinese Art.

Dedicated to finding the best in art and design, Masterpiece London, held on the South Grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, has become a must attend event at the heart of the captal’s busy summer art and auction season and has established London as a mecca for masterpieces each June. Offering for sale museum-quality works with superb provenance from over 150 galleries worldwide, Masterpiece provides a unique opportunity to buy or admire the best pieces available across every discipline in the art market. Showcasing works that span over 4,000 years of art history, from antiquity to the present day, the Fair creates an unparalleled event and provides something of interest for every visitor. Drawing curators to the Fair from the world’s finest cultural institutions, Masterpiece has established itself as an important annual meeting place. The success of the Fair can, in part, be attributed to the groundswell of interest and purchases from these world-renowned institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Rijksmuseum, MoMA, British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, The Getty and Tate. This year, the Fair welcomes The Wallace Collection, The National Portrait Gallery, The Courtauld Institute of Art and Sir John Soane’s Museum as its official Cultural Partners.

In addition to being wildly successful in its own right, the popularity of Masterpiece is testament to the growing appetite for rare and quality pieces among today’s collectors.
